.. just a thought..
. have you ever come across someone.
. who lives in your own city or town.
. who you thought was attractive.
. and you felt a connection to them.
. and you know they felt one towards you..
. but you do not act on this. emotion.
. and carry on about your business.
. let's say a hour or two.
. or perhaps you even walk to the other end of wherever.
. and there's that same person again.
.. and you think lucky me another chance another opportunity.
but again you do not act on . this. connection..
.. so two or three days later.. sure enough who out the blue appears in front of you...
now my thought is this....
. is it purely happenstance...
. or perhaps the universe is telling you something.
.. putting you together..hmm.
..
. it happens to me a lot.. and no I'm not a stalker..lol...
I think that the term for this phenonemon is "umwelt". We notice things that are important to us and don't notice things that are not. There's a comparison with a tick that senses the smell of animals that it drops on to suck their blood and a couple of other things that it needs to be aware of to survive but it is oblivious to everything else.
It's similar to deja vu. For example, you might notice that you keep hearing people using the same word or phrase and say, "What a weird coincidence. Someone was just talking about that the other day". In reality, you are conciously or unconciously looking for the thing and it isn't looking for you. The only "purposes" are our own.
It's not "unlucky" to walk under ladders anymore than it's unlucky to cross the street. You just might get something dropped on your head, or you might get run over. All of this talk about the universe sending and telling is pure superstition. I'm supposedly atracting the same types of women through some karmic process. That's crap. Superstitious talk anyway. I simply "get" those women and they get me. The other ones think that I'm a prick and I'm not all that keen on them either.
