I have been dating local as well... BUT.. I have spoken to "men" that claim that they are from my area and they do not know the city. I have lived here for about 2 years now, I may not know everything.. but I do know a good portion of the city. So a word to the wise.. just because they say they are local does not mean that they are.

Ah well, this is where women are generally easier to scam. If I talk to a woman on a dating site I'm trying to get her to meet me. I'm not worrying about getting to know them first or building a connection, or any of that jazz. I know that they know the local area because we're aranging a date after only a few messages, or they are saying no thanks and wishing me luck with what I'm looking for.

I've never had a date with a woman that didn't say that she wanted to meet me after just a few messages. It just doesn't happen. The ones that aren't keen and just want to chat are roadblockers and so are the scammers. They may say that they like me but they make excuses about why they can't just make a date and then it just turns into an argument, which I can't be doing with, so I thank them for the chat and wish them luck with what they're looking for and just arange a date with someone that does want to meet me.

Just be very, very carefull and diplomatic before descarting a non picture profile. I was almost discarting the best friend I met here. I've learned there are few suitable reasons not to put a picture.

I would never do what you are asking for, ever, and I am not a scammer.

l have a message for all woman l have come across 4 scammers already on here. No JOKE!! l have got the mingle2 to remove them . Be very very Careful if they say they love you right off, they want money, say everything you want to hear they are a scammer. DON"T give them your phone, address, more pictures and never about you and your life and business or anything else. l got smart and went on Google type scammers sites will come up Most take a soldiers pic and change their names etc. Go to U.S military sites they will give you more information.

Look out for your self's.

When I first came online in mid 2012, scammers zeroed in on me too.

Rather than running away I wanted to learn all I could about the internet world and the people who run and rule it, after all I have enough life experience to know when I'm being played and how much I'm willing to bet and lose on who wins the games we're playing.

I also wanted people to get to know me too.

Believe it or not scammers aren't just in Afghanistan and Nigeria, they are right here in the good ole U.S of A too. The difference is the scammers here are more skilled and educated, and are smarter at hiding their hand until it's time to fold.

Just remember that life is a game and we all play to win while taking some losses, because it's against the odds for us to win all the time.
