How is everyone this evening?

I have been working on a quilt for one of my friends.
It's looking pretty good so far.
Next on my list will be a black and purple quilt for my daughter.

... me first..lol.. so it rained here.. all day Friday almost.. and one of my sump pumps.. quit working..ohhh.no..
Ohhh yesss... I knew this!! because I received water in my basement..ohhh no..ohh.yesss...lol... not a lot at first..hmm... but by the time I figured, out what was happening.. I started thinking.. do I need to put Milo in a life jacket..lmao..

Poor Milo

Oh those stubborn sump pumps.
I had one that would act up too and every now and again I would have to yell at it.
The basement would flood every time it rained if that thing quit.
I would go down every rain storm to make sure it was working...lol

Today I have been working on another quilt that I am making for a friend.
It's looking pretty good and it's the first time I have used silk in a quilt.
Managed to get ALL of the leaks in those old pipes fixed last week as well.
Didn't have to tear up the new floor either bigsmile

Tomorrow will be the last day I have to ride with another bus driver.

.. yes I should have checked it earlier..
. well I did check it out.. it seem to be working.. I performed a.. operational check..it checked out.. what I did not notice... is when I had the new freezer delivered.. they set a corner of it down.. on the sump pump hose..ohhh no ohhh yess..
so the back pressure just kept shutting the pump off..ohh yess..lol..
so during the storm.. I'm getting water and freaking out.. at this pump..
. now at this point I'm getting quite a bit of water..ohh no.... but luckily.. it is in just the mechanical room in the basement.. the laundry room, furnace and my stockpile are in there along with the hot water tank.. but my saving grace is.. when the city's.. main water main broke a while back.. and flooded out the entire basement..
Ohh no ohh f.n yess..lol.. well when I renovated after that.. I put everything up on blocks. 24 by 24.. sidewalk blocks... thinking just in case anything ever happen again.. it would buy me some time.. and what do you know it did..lmao... ok back to my pump... so thinking the pump was broken.. son of a box of raisins..lol..
I rushed off to the hardware store.
leaving my oldest.. to hold back the flood.. with the shop vac.. the best he could... so of course I get to the hardware store.. and everybody with issues with water is looking to buy pumps..ohhh..nooooo...
but me being me... seeing that the pump I need is no longer in stock..
. goes over to the. department manager.. who I know because I do a lot of business with them... and get him to sell me the demo model... yaaaa.. for me.. too bad for the people... that. did not think of this..lol..
. so I get home.. change out the pump quickly.. and the hose keeps blowing off..hmmm..wtf.. put it back on.. it blows off.. water in my face... now I'm getting upset... Milo Justin Thomas.. to the lifeboats..lmao.. save yourself.
the captain must go down with the ship..lmfao... now it takes me a minute to figure out what's going on..
look behind the freezer.. see that the hose is pinched... corrected that issue.
pump starts to work.. I look at Thomas.. shake my head.. and he looks at me and says.. well at least now you have a spare pump... I could have kissed him.. he was so cute...
but its all good now.. basement is dry pumps are working... so they're giving you the keys too the bus...
that's exciting.. they won't let you take the bus home.?? flowerforyou
