one of the up sides of workin with the USA is that I get holidays many Canadians (if ANY) DON'T get
and currently.. I gots a 5 day weekend
with tons to do of course
I'm FINALLY putting together the bed frame I designed and built out of cedar.. man that room smells awesome
pulled out all the fabric too and have been measuring and making the pattern designs I'll need to cut and sew it.. gotta get the sewing machine fixed first
I've taken pics of the 'before' and I'll take some 'after' ones too.. maybe even post'em here
I'm a lil proud of all my hard work and efforts
anywho.. ALL the christmas shopping is DONE.. just waiting for a few items from overseas and I'll be all set!
then the week before I'll find THE perfect tree (for me
) and get to decorating
I've already started re-arranging the furniture in the living room
just need help to get the exercise equipment downstairs though.. I'll get my eldest to help
on another note.. thankfully.. work has been pretty steady.. got another contract starting dec. 1st (day we get back) until February.. which is wild cuz the past few years we've been off mostly during those times.. and I've another one I was working on up to yesterday, to finish by the 5th.. so like I said.. fairly steady..YIPEE
life has been fairly sedate.. sleep, eat, exercise, work, housework, reno's, repeat.. plus babysitting my g-baby.. he's such a cutie.. we have soo much fun together and I just LOVE the way he lights up when I walk into the room
I'm soo looking forward to this Christmas with him here.. he loves laughing and singing, such a joy to be around!
one last tidbit to share before get back to life.. some weeks ago I stopped at a garage sale I was passing, don't know why but something urged me to.. boy was I GLAD I DID! a woman was selling duvet covers, gorgeous box, king sized ones.. she had 1 left in its original packaging.. must have cost a good $400 (by my research after the fact).. I drooled over it a moment, smiled at the women (softly sighed to myself) then starting walking away when she stopped me asking if I'd be interested.. I said I would be but because I didn't have much cash on me (I rarely carry more than $20 at any given time, being mugged once already taught me THAT lesson)but asked out of curiosity, how much was she selling it for.. she said being it was her last one, she'd take $40 for it well I was
by that response.. however I admitted I had only the $20 (I was pulling out of my pocket).. she looked at me ponderously for a moment and said "I'll take it!" I was FLOORED! however I've been happily sleeping under it since the weather turned bitter last week.. and MAN what an amazing sleep I had THAT night (and every other night since).. simply AWEsome! when I inquired as to why she let it go for so cheap, she said "you look like someone who would appreciate it!" she was soo right
well peeps.. have a GREAT thanksgiving holiday.. be safe.. gobble gobble!
