Some of my fondest camping memories involves putting up tents. Years ago friends and I decided to go camping at the very last minute. Which meant we were totally unprepared. We forgot many things including flashlights, lanterns, or even a lighter or matches. By the time we got to our area to camp it was dark. Nothing like trying to put up a tent by the light of the moon. Still one of the most fun camping trips I've had.

LOL...I've put a lot of tents up in the dark. It's funny to see what they look like and where they landed.... when you wake up in the morning.

Talking about tents just put up my first tent over memorial weekend.. My son had all his camping gear in my shed.. Was pleasantly surprised that it took less then 10 minutes for me to set it up by myself....

That was the first camping trip I had been on in 30 years that I've sleep in a tent...My way of camping is either a cabin or a RV... I must say I had a blast..

My only requirements was that we had access to water and electric..and we had bathrooms with showers near by. I took a queen air mattress to sleep on.. I can't do the ground thing.....

Just me and a girlfriend of mine went.. think we are going to make that trip again for we floated the river that weekend and met a lot of really kewl people..

My only advice is make sure you have a newer tent due to they are really easy to set up... Then get you a small one man tent to put all your ice chest food ect in that way they are all covered and keep in one place.. I took the one man tent due to my son explained to me if it rains your food that is not in a ice chest is kept dry... Best hint he told me for we got a couple of short showers that weekend...

I think next time ill get two guard dogs for outside the tent lol or a man whichever comes first laugh

Just so you know if you have never gone camping in the mountains there are a lot of new noises that you may never have encountered before. The worst part is somewhere in the back of your mind you keep asking yourself "was that a bear?!"

Hope you have fun.
You'll get into it after awhile.
Bears do come into tents and when I was in Banff National Park we were warned to keep all of our food looked away. Depends on where you are, and don't forget about scorpions, snakes etc. Keep a swatter/hammer of your choice and size nearby.lol.

Camping is a great laugh, heating beans in the can, climbing trees, kindling hunting, swimming in lakes/waterfalls, identifying bug bites etc

I kinda get the impression that you prefer 'glamping' but I'm old school (love a challenge)

Just wait until you have to take the tent down - try and pick a dry day as packing wet tents sucks, but done that too. Definitely need the 'Shitrus' spray then lol
