Heights freak me out, I mean it just overwhelms me.At work I have to go up to the top floor of the resort from time to time and even though I know there is a ton of concrete I can't look down(I always do) without getting a chill up my spine.
I worked on the construction of the UK's highest building The Shard, in London, at over 1000ft, it was a bit nervy at first, but you get used to it and then you didn't even think of the height anymore, or the safety harnesses that were anchoring you to the building either, you just did your job.
This...heights! I can't even stand at the balcony of a 3rd floor apartment if the railing is too low. Or it is just iron railing right to the floor I would not venture anywhere close. Standing at the edge, I felt like I was going to topple over.
But Tim...... how do you overcome or get used to it? I need to overcome this fear, as recently I am required to climb up the scaffolds of a building in construction to check on the works. The last time I climbed, I was going 'OMG OMG OMG' as I stood up there just 15 ft on a wobbly platform (well, it was wobbly to me anyway
My friend had no problem though)!!! It is going to be 20 ft next time I climb....and my heart is already pounding with just the thought!!
