.. I'm referring to.. sights ,sounds that trigger.. good ol memories for you!
.. I have lived in the same city, for most of my life...
.. I can hardly go anywhere..
. in my city... without.. a certain building or place triggering... a fond childhood memory....

.. even certain movies.. take me back
.. to my youth.. for instance the Raiders of the Lost Ark..
everytime I come across it on the TV station... it takes me right back to standing in line. with my friends.
hoping that we get in ?and get a good seat for the show...
. and then going to A&W for burgers afterwards.... and reenacting certain parts of the movie....hmm.....
...
do you have a favorite film or place that you go to.... that conjures up fond memories, of your childhood..

... everytime I smell burnt toast..
I'm reminded of my wife's cooking..lol

Everytime I see packets of condoms .. I am reminded of how I used to make balloon animals with them and use them as moulds for plaster of Paris toys ... ..laughing .. Oh wait .. I still do that :-)

Recycling is important...save the planet.

. but I digress..lol

... for me I cannot go into.. princess auto.. it is a auto and hardware store all in one... they carry everything from farm supplies... to camping and yard equipment... power tools... well basically a little bit of everything actually... it's an awesome store..

.. my dad and I used to go there frequently.. before he passed..
.. now.... whenever I go there..
.. all I can do is remember the times my dad and I spent in that store..
.. they're great memories..
.. but now instead of going there and seeing all this great stuff....
.. all I see now are images.. memories of my dad saying.. PhD come look at this...ohhhh.. I definitely need one of these.... a screwdriver / bottle opener / flashlight . all in one...lol.... good memories...
. but bittersweet at the same time..

Summer evening... walk along the river Vltava here in Prague...lights of the restaurant on the opposite side... it reminds me of the time long ago - my family holidays - which we used to spent at the seaside...I know that river isnοΏ½t so wide as sea lol but still, in night, I remember of the time when I was a child and want to go back to those days, to visit those places I knew... Or later period, during the war, when I lived on seaside, as a refugee...Very hard time it was, but some memories are so dear...And wish I could have them back...

I still enjoy a few others that are still open ... get there when I can ... ohmygoodness my city has changed ... big time ... even the rds ... have put in major highways ... I came back to visit and remember when they started the new highway ... some old... some new ...that's how it goes I guess ...

my first PC did not have a GUI

every time I see someone on AS/400 some place, I see myself on my old dot matrix closing down the word processor so I could open up another program. pre windows...lol

oh god sweetest I had one of those too, I just don't remember the model, an Atari or maybe a Commadore and to think there is a whole generation that doesn't know what a 5 1/4 floppy drive is. Did you ever write a program on a punch card? Ah the old AS/400 and VAX days.
