just make sure to take a square and a level with you..... make sure there's enough insulation in the attic..
... proper drainage around the foundation... and go to the property in the morning and the evening....
. neighbourhoods change.. between morning and evening... walk down the back alley see how clean it is....

.. that will give you a good indication of the neighborhood......

...... don't forget the breaker box..


I grew up in the neighborhood. It's a small farm town. I will be having a home inspector come in once we agree on a price.

Brand new box and electrical, new plumbing, new kitchen and baths. Slight slope but it was built in 1910.

unless it has been renovated recently it might still be lath and plaster..
.. be careful that the foundation is not cracked badly... if the foundation is screwed up.. does not matter what you do after that.... you can build a whole new house and you'll still have a screwed up foundation..... focus mainly on foundation..... it's more likely balloon built... if it's taller than one story...... that means all your floor trusses are just nailed to the outside wall studs..... not like today...
.. . where the upper floor trusses sit on the outside walls...... look for Jack post in the basement...... and look for cracked.. basement floor.....
