Dear Boss,
There are two people in this world who (I feel) have given me any and all rights to hate them. And yet, I have never hated them or anyone in my life.
My parents taught me to find the good in people, to try and understand that I could not make everyone like me, to treat others in the manner that I desired to be treated....basically any good life lesson you can think of, well, my parents laid those foundations for me. Throughout my life I have done my best to learn from others, to ask for forgiveness when I have done wrong, to help others when I could, to listen instead of fighting and to try to what is "always right".
However, this morning you tested me in a way that I had never been tested before. In the span of five minutes you showed me just how little you think of me, how you can never be wrong (even when someone tries to calmly state their side of the situation) and how unhappy, unhealthy and angry you are. I am sure you are nice to those whom you deem are "worthy" of you. And yet, from my understanding, that list is so small. Today showed me why that is. I never wanted to be your friend. I only asked for a leader (a trait you clearly do not possess), a teacher (which you are the worst I have ever encountered) and a man of fairness (of which you have never shown me). You play the victim role so well simply because you YELL THE LOUDEST WHEN SOMEONE IS ABOUT TO PROVE YOU WRONG!
I could say I hope you rot in hell for what you did today, but that isn't me. Even after your tirade I stayed and proved to you my worth. I don't really care that you FINALLY thanked me for it. In fact, instead of getting up and quitting your ***, I decided to stay and show you that you won't beat me. You don't get it man, and you never will. A boss is supposed to lead his employees to becoming better not only at their jobs, but at recognizing that their may even be more inside them to attain bigger career heights. You will never be that and I say this.....
Thank you! Thank you for showing me that an angry, unhappy in his career a-hole is exactly what I do not want to become when I reach your age. In the end you will lose to me....even though you will think you won. Sometimes two people cannot work together....sometimes a person cannot work for another. And the bigger person will realize this fact of life. And guess what....this employee did today. Say hello and goodbye to the bigger person.
