I always wonder if people come back to their posts and see no one really viable responds, or if this is just like a fishing trip where they throw out the forum post bait and then just sit and watch their inbox trap for a while.
And then I wonder what their next step is.
Do they try another forum post?
Do they just leave the site?
Do they start mass emailing, sending cut and paste messages? Like if you can't bait them with a forum post, then why not throw dynamite in the water affecting as many as possible and see what floats up?
Do they go away for awhile, and then come back to the site hoping for some population turnover?
What is most common?
Or does billboarding actually work?
Does anyone, after starting an OP like this, ever get a "Oh, I'm so glad you put something on the forums! I gave up so long ago and just happened to read your post. And now I've found you!" email and they live happily ever after?
