Can someone please explain to me what is it with men and motorbikes?
Is it having something power underneath?
It's not so much the young ones more the older ones.

Does it bring out the rebellion self that's in them?
Are they living out a fantasy?

Thanks for your answers

I love motorcycles. I don't know about the men but to me with the wind blowing in your hair, it is freeing. You have made me want a ride LOL

well, with older men, they are probably trying to re-live their youth.. mid-life crisis and all that ..
bikes and men on bikes do nothing for me... I am not a biker chick.

A thought came to mind
Do you think they like bikes because it's a way of getting a lady to hug them?
Because you have to hold on to them when on the back.

Can't speak for all men out there, but I have always wanted to have a motorcycle. Remember my father having one when I was very young, and going for rides through the subdivision with him since he wouldn't go on main roads with me.

My ex-wife did not want me to have one when we were together, and to be honest because of her and the kids I never pushed the issue.

Once I was single I went and took the safety class, got my license, and bought a small but decent bike to ride to work and around town. It is nice on gas mileage and for color tours in the fall, but don't think I would ever ride it long distances or across the country.

Thanks everyone for answering

I did notice guys in my age group have motorcycles.
I wondered why?

I ride my motorcycles every chance I get. It has nothing to do with power or ego as 90% of the time I am alone out there ( or with one person).

It has everything to do with riding down the ocean roads or up thru the mountains in fall. everything is different when you ride. You feel the different air currents, you smell the trees, you see things that you would not see in a car.

And the best of all is.. your cell phone is off, you are disconnected from everything

Sometimes I will just pack a change of cloths, maybe take a friend and just go.. for a long weekend trip to no where.. whichever way the bike goes. and just pull into a hotel when it gets late. See all the small town.. just cruise around out there and relax.

that is paradise to me.

When I was younger I used to like to ride but now I just cringe when trying to get through traffic. The bumps make my back hurt a lot more. lol And the risk of huge medical bills and being dependent for life from even a minor accident just don't seem worth it.

But I get where men who have stepped up and worked long hours for decades providing for families want a few of the perks that appeal to them. And I see how they resent being "told" no way. That would make me angry and pretty much hell bent to have one. Even if I just parked it on the driveway. lol

I have a sports car/convertible...same feeling, just more comfortable..
although.. on highway driving, its too noisy and windy to hear the music!

It has to do with the freedom to ride, its so different then a car the wind blowing through your hair, down here at the beach you don't have to wear a helmet, riding along the road next to the ocean is great, its not so much a age thing in the warm weather you can ride all year long and a lot of bars and restaurants have events. Here in Myrtle Beach we have a Harley weeks thousands show up best week on the beach! I disagree with the reliving your youth thing its about being alive and enjoying it, no different then other hobbies, like taking that trip you always wanted, or scuba diving.

Can someone please explain to me what is it with men and motorbikes?

Might as well ask:

What is it with men and cars?
What is it with men and sports?
What is it with men and food?
What is it with men and pants?
What is it with men and breathing?
What is it with men and women?

What kind of answer are you looking for?
What do you expect to get out of it?

Is it having something power underneath?

Are you looking for it to be just "one" thing that just explains all men? Or all men with motorcycles?

It'd be easier to answer why you personally care, or how it affects you, than it would be to answer why a bunch of different men do different things believe and feel different things yet all end up exhibiting similar observed behavior.

I was curious to know why as I have noticed a lot like them in my age group.

I personally don't have a problem with a bike. I think it's great they have an interest outside work and home whether it's motorcycles, Fishing or hunting.

To the other questions you have I don't think are relevant to my question.

I just wanted to have an understanding that is all.
Thanks for your input.

Some men likes that hug and since they can't have it for so long, they want the women to hold them very tight when on the back

The only time I've ever been on a bike was in Vietnam, a taxi, it was only a tiny little thing and I only went about a mile.

Never again, not over there anyway.

In some cases, it is cheaper to buy and to operate a motorcycle.
