It is not that men don't have feelings or emotions, we are just conditioned to be stoic. In doing so, we are taught to set our emotions aside in any given situation so that we can handle whatever task is at hand. When things have calmed and a man has time to himself (which can literally mean not another person within eyesight of him), he'll bring up these emotions he's compartmentalized, deal with them, and then start moving on.

Women, through no fault of their own, actually reinforce this behavior in men. Emotional outbursts make a man look weak, out of control, or unable to handle a situation. These things distract from the inherent "protector" role that the female of every species of animal looks for in a mate (I might say it is not for her own protection that a woman looks to spurn these traits, but for a sense of "can he protect our offspring"). Some might argue that the stoicism that is implanted in men is necessary for the propagation of the species.

However, there are exceptions to the rule. One can always see a man in the grips of "elation," especially when his favorite sporting group just took the lead in the big game. He'll scream, jump around and "high five" his buddies, basically make a fool of himself because he is so wrapped in emotion.

I asked my friend Peter this
His reply
Why are you asking this?
It's a question that can cause an argument between both.
I'm saying nothing lol

When he's like this I laugh because he thinks yes but wants to keep that to himself so he's not in harms way.

A very wise man

Although both genders have the ability to feel emotions deeply, I do think women's predisposition towards PMS, pregnancy hormonal overload and later on menopause, makes them more vulnerable to heightened emotions on a more habitual basis than men.

smile2 Is it fair to say that in general women are more emotional than men? Or do you think it is simply a case of men/women expressing their emotions differently? smile2 Either way,...I am grateful, both for the things we have in common and for our differences. What is your opinion??? waving

hell yes

I do not think women are more emotional than men. I would say however, that women have a harder time controlling their emotions.

Well ALL the STUPID women talk shows seem to prove that.

I'm not sure if you can include the gay guys on those shows

as men or women or what.

But, YES. Women and Gay Men are more emotional then normal men.

Define normal.....since what is normal or normal changes on especially gender roles have changed greatly....please explain a normal male or normal female. As a female raised by men to be self reliant and function in the capacity to repair things play sports as well as smell good and look the female part. Where do I got into traditional gender roles. Also, have learned to control my emotional state as part of it to a certain extent. I would rather walk away and diffuse my emotions. I have mastered showing my emotional state as well. But it doesn't mean I feel any less deeply than I ever did. It just means I do not have to show my emotional state to you. But if I have gotten to the point where I do not share my emotions with you, you should worry. Because I don't care to.

I will say this. they are faster with the tongue. I don't think I ever won a outright argument with a woman. They are fast. I always know what I should have said.. but that is after the fact.

And guys... when you see the head start to do that " bobble head" thing... back off.. you ain't going to win.

i think both, women and men are emotional, it's just that women are very vocal on what they felt. While men are good in hiding and always pretending to be strong. . .
