I have no idea how to socialize as an adult. The last time i even attempted to approach a women 20 years ago (young lady back then), i was a completly different person.
I will admit that being older, i feel less confident around women.
Everyone goes through different experiences while life puts on the years. 20 years ago i was a confident young man ready to jump up at every oppourtunity...now in my early 40s i was used to a confidence with 1 women and assumed i would die with that.
Now i find myself single wanting to approach the "scary" dating scene ,which i have never done...now as a single dad with a 13 year old boy and 2 adult kids.
My realationship was a very rocky one and it involved a women that has beat the past memories and myself up so bad that im unsure how to talk to the other sex.....god knows i want to because i am a very codependant person...i love (my future lady) unconditionally....
now im rambling but i would appretiate some advice from the females around my age the best way you could invision a man trying to become involved emotionally with yourselves????

:-) don't make it so hard. Start with being confident and happy with yourself. Do things you enjoy. You will attract people like yourself and it will help you find conversation easy.

Fill out your profile. Hang out and converse with people here in the forums. Go out and just enjoy life and have patience.

You just joined so give it some time and you'll see that it's not so hard at all. Online dating can be fun. Women are actually pretty active though, and pretty soon you'll notice their interest in your person. Meanwhile look around what happens here in the forums and enjoy the site.

thanks for all you replies...they all make scense..i have seen my doctor and all they want to do these days is fill a guy with pills. , not an answer to deppression in my opinion.
Meeting a nice woman with REAL morals would definatley help.
That is the reason i joined this site i cant give up on the notion.

take a deep breathe...
take some time to figure out what it is you really need in a relationship
instead of just a knee-jerk reaction to being hurt


and start sloooooooooooow otherwise you gonna scare em off
and come across as desperate/needy
