you know as well as I do that most of it is like that

a smile or a wave to bump a thread and keep it active
I'm not talking about keeping a thread going....I'm talking about the non confrontational back and forth that goes on and is expected the be the "norm"

"The sky is blue"

"No it's green"

Yea, you're right! Let's hug!"

"Hugs!"

"flowerforyou "

"flowerforyou "

And I only bring it up because some wanna bltch abt sections I post in....political. I wouldn't bltch about those other sections otherwise.
I'd just remove them from my forum list.

no offense to the OP

but most of these are predictible

when the OP responds to each and every post

almost like..they are mandated to do it

like it's a formula to follow
Lost me here but I'm multi-tasking so it's probably my my fault laugh

canned responses...instead of an actual discussion or debate

tends to aggravate me

Do you think people are clickish on here? In life do we just click with some people and not others?

Hell to the yes!

Clicks are very important though!

Without clicks we would be without many things

Yes on both questions. AS far as mingle without a doubt there is a click and that's ok but the problem with some( as in life as well) is they get a superior attitude and do not want to include people who are new because they are worried of losing their standing in the group,I see this a defense mechanism and it tells me all I want to know about that person. You Seakolony do not fall into that category your willingness to chat with newcomers is to be admired and there are a few others here who are very social to newcomers you folks are what life is about, good conversation with confidence.

Seak .. I think it is nice to acknowledge posts ... You cannot please everyone .. Just do your thing .. Your grandmother taught you well flowers waving

I agree. I tend to do the same if I am asking for advise because I feel that it acknowledges that I appreciate the feedback and that I am reading it.

Are there clicks here? Maybe, but I see it more as people who have been here in the forums longer, have gotten to know each other and acknowledge each other. I don't see anything wrong with that and I am sure I will be one of those people after I have been here longer and gotten to know people better. I don't see it as a click though. But I guess to some people who are new it may seem that way. smile2

Agreed, I also think that some are careful to see if person is going to stick around or if they might be a scammer or spammer sometimes too

This thread was about rudeness of accusation as well as being welcoming to newcomers and not making them feel excluded. I was very interested on the opinions of the forums. That as a newcomer at first glance being judgemental of others and who they are and represent isn't a good thing g. Also, as the older members maybe we should you more acknowledgment of the newbies posts to make them feel more welcome and less like an outsider looking in.

To the newbies don't knock or judge my friends because you don't know them and it pisses me off in an email or in the forums. Thank you.

yep

think it was worse when I joined
I'm with ya T....We started posting around the same time and it WAS more cliquish then. And I used to laugh at how some thought "new to mingle2" meant 'new to internet forums". I would then laugh even more at the non original crap they would post thinking they had broken new internet ground.
Way more cliquish then....not nearly as much now.

the politics section especially was pretty cut throat :bigsmile

huh What do you mean was?

Veterans of Mingle (like me) will remember a time when this forum had a ton of people. I think a few cliques formed back then, and I did here of some "internet drama".....which makes no sense. laugh

Yep, I remember the old interesting day with lots of personalities, Goof. There was more popcorn floating around these forums to feed all the homeless in the US
