Cars are no indicator of wealth and that's the way it's always been. As Will Rodgers once said in the 1930's (words to the effect); if you want to solve the traffic problems, only allow cars on the road that are paid for.

I am proud to paid mine all off before taking the baby home...

Beating myself now for it.. but feels good not having to make payments... ha ha ha

Well ya know it is funny for to me it is not so much that one must drive a brand new vechicle that cost more then my house that would bother me. Actually myself If they drive up and the Car or Truck no matter how old (by the way love the Classics) What would turn me off would be for it to be nasty and look as if it had not been washed or taken care of for ever.

The way I have always seen it is no matter how old it may be if one takes extra car of it keeps it clean inside and out. That tells a lot about a person to me for one they take pride in what they have and in the other hand will take care of other things around them.

As far as having material things yeah they are nice to have. But.....if one does not take care of what they have to me it shows they don't have pride in what they do everyday.

Funny though for I have always made this and issue with my kids and there dates. Not that I told their dates this well not till they got used to being around me that is. But hey always told them if your date drives up in a Car/Truck that looks like it came out of the dumb and trashed inside and out to say thank you for the invite but I'm not feeling well and don't go out with them again. lol Think I'm kidding shshs I promise you most young kids. Since they have not had the experience of being in the real world when they get their first Car. To me the ones that take pride in it and keep it clean no matter how old it is gives you and idea of how they will be later. One must learn to take pride in what ever they have. And in reality it don't make a darn if you paid twice as much as someone else did and it is always nasty.

When it comes down to it all that matters is that one understands the value of a dollar and takes care of what they have. JMObigsmile

If you found out a woman you were meeting drove a more expensive car than you, would it bother or intimidate you?

Truthfully, men....how do you feel when a potential date tells you she drives a higher end car?

What does it say to you?

I would say, i have a Blazer with a 2 inch lift kit, 33's tiers with a 350, turbo 400 trans with a Nine inch rear end that would push your car down the road untill i was ready to run you over and falten your car outlaugh laugh laugh

No, it's a car, a thing designed to take you from Point A to Point L. No big deal, it's just a car. That's like me worrying because she uses more expensive shampoo. I don't think so.

I feel like maybe she should buy me one.

It says she drives a particular car. If she's obsessed with it, with the fact that it's EXPENSIVE, blah blah blah, I probably wouldn't go out with her. Materialistic people annoy me. Of course, pretty much everybody annoys me.

If I had a nice lady with a nice car, I'd probably be punching above my weight, and enjoying the ride.
My beat up old reliable car doesn't impress anyone but me.
But horses for courses: to impress, or for a leisurely cruise with comfort and style, take the ladies' flash car; for a fully loaded road trip, take the crusty old work horse.

I don't mind what car she has, as long as it doesn't break down, so if she has an expensive car, there's less chance of that happening, and also a chance she is with a breakdown repair call out service, so you get towed, and a hotel room for the night, nice.

Is there a rich lady for me out there, with a Bugati Veyron, or a maserati, or even a Porsche ? Not a clapped out Datsun ! tongue2

if the car is high end it would not bother me at all. i would be pleased since the car should be more reliable. if she drives a jalopy how many times will it break down and would need to be rescued by a stranger.

Wow talk about a blast from the past...

I honestly have drove high end and I have drove low end.
The car, truck, bike has never impressed me much.

I drive a 2015 Chevy Truck and I love it. have no intentions of trading it in anytime soon.

Now if it is a muscle car my heart may go pitter patter and wonder what it will take for me to be able to drive it.

As long as she has the job and bank account to support that expensive car, not a problem that it's more expensive than mine. I choose to not spend my money on a car that depreciates in value.

If it's only for show and she can't afford it in reality, then it's a good sign to run away and not look back!

The last woman I dated had 3 Gumpert Apollos, a private jet, tons of land, and a trucking company. I have some nice vehicles I suppose, but I live like a monk in comparison. It didn't cross my mind, as I was her friend and confidant. She decided that I would make a good mate because I was the only person that never hit on her, always treated her equally, and with respect, and never crossed that line that everyone crossed with her eventually.

I've had everything from Jags to rusted out Chevy pick-ups in my garage. I don't give a rats rip what kind of car she drives. The fact that she thinks driving a pricier car than I do might "intimidate" me though is a real turn off.

And this thread is over eight years old. That pricey car she was so proud of may just be in the bone yard by now.
