Hi tribu .. Sorry to hear your fur baby is unwell .. But wonderful she has returned home ..
Some suggestions ..
Be careful with the feeding and give her less and just small amounts till you know how she is coping . If she has not eaten for weeks she is at risk of refeeding syndrome which can be fatal .
The syringe is a good idea .. You can try salmon in spring water and blend that to a thin consistency with extra water if needed . Salmon contains omega three oils which are a natural antiinflammatory and may help if there is a pain issue .
Did the vet not give her any pain relief ???? Did he prescribe the b12 ??? Again be extremely careful dose for animals is tiny . Too much can be toxic .
Full a hot water bottle with hot water and wrap a cloth round it then place it under her . ... If she tolerates it .. Hear can also help with pain . Be sure to check her skin is not in direct contact with the bottle .
You can also try kangaroo care .. Wrap a sheet or large fabric or sling around you . Wrap her In a blanket and pop her in the sling .
Check her gums . You mentioned she lost a tooth . Does her gum look red and inflamed or pale . Is there any yellowing if her eyes . Feel under each limb and her groin .. Are there are lumps palpable .. If she has an infection her lymph glands may be swollen . Gently feel her tummy and watch how she reacts . If she is sore she will let you know .
How is breathing .. Pain usually makes an animal pant or breathe short, shallow and fast .. Usually one of the first signs of pain. For them .
Have you wormed her since she returned .
Is she peeing and pooing .
If she has been immunised .. It is unlikely she has picked up a virus . Is there any possibility she has internal Injuries .. If she has seen the vet he would have checked her for signs of damage and organ failure . She could just be extremely stressed and malnourished .
Hope you find some answers . If I think of anything else I will let you know . Luv to you both xox
Did the vet not give her any pain relief ????
she doesnt look like having any pain.
Did he prescribe the b12 ???
yeah he did that. 0,5 mg morning and evening.
wrapped her with clothes, kept her body temp stable and warm.
did the kangaroo care as well. that helps emotionally as well, i believe. she feels safe.
checked her gums. no swollen, no red, no infection. touched it. she has no pain.
also i checked the eyes. the color of the white parts were okay. but will keep checking both time by time.
she was just wormed 2 months ago. that lasts for 3 months. still i will give her a tablet to be sure. thanks for reminding about that. her toilet i checked. looks normal. but i will give the tablet.
she has no pain at all. i guess no internal injuries. i checked her many parts. no sign of any pain. but mainly psychological i think.
i had no idea about that salmon thing. thanks for that. hope we never need to do that but good to know.
gave her the morning b12
water
and liquid food
lady has become stronger since 5 hrs before
looks like the food and the water has worked.
