Someone has messaged me who I'm pretty sure has posted a phony picture of themselves ( the photo looks like a male model). Should I ignore the message or call him on it? I don't want to be played a fool.

I would use your female intuition and ignore him. That's how these scammers get you in. They say to report suspect scammers to the management. Just don't give out any personal info.

A couple of years ago I met a woman online and she had posted six photos of another woman. We met soon as time is precious and delaying the test for potential chemistry is important and needed to be done quickly. Anyway we agreed to meet at a wine bar, a woman approached me and asked if I were Michael ( I did not recognize this woman) I said yes and she then told me she was the woman from the dating site but chose to hide her identity with another woman I asked for her reasoning ( both were similar in looks) not seeming to mask anything other than privacy so she stated she was not comfortable meeting as herself. I thanked her for her honesty and then shared that I did not feel comfortable with her lack of trust and that raised the likelihood of her misrepresenting other aspects so I acknowledged her and left....

Do you know how to Google a picture?

1) Right-click on the pic you want to check, select 'Copy.'
2) Go to Google ( http://www.Google.com )
3) Left-click on 'Images' upper right.
4) Drop down to the text box, see a camera in it on the right?
Left-click on the camera and up will pop a line where you
can paste the url of the picture you have copied. (Left-click
on the line, then right-click and select 'Paste.'
5) Left-click on 'Search.'

You will not have to wonder again :-)

No I meant that I'm new to internet dating and that your response to me sounded sarcastic like I should have known what to do

Well op.!. Welcome to the wonderful world online dating... for every one person that is genuine and real ..there is three that are not... rule of thumb if they only have one picture up and nothing in their profile.. pretty safe bet they're fake. Another rule chat globally date locally... if you really want to test somebody have them posted pictures of themselves holding up a glass of water...yup..

A glass of water?

Interesting...

My rule of thumb - if they look way too hot to be interested in me, I figure they are fake.laugh

If I ask them if they are scammers and they get mad, they are scammers.

If they ask you for money, they are scammers.

If they send a "hi" don't bother responding... they never write back.

If they start out with over the top flattery - I don't take them seriously.

I agree, 9 out of 10 are fake... sadly.
