I have bipolar disorder and after coming down from a manic episode once I was psychotic. That is one hell of a mind altering experience.

I've done shrooms and acid but my biggest mind altering experience was the different psychological breakdowns I had. Those were mind altering

I don't think I'd go for hypnosis, I'm very wary of magic like hoodoo voodoo, I try to avoid pills and have generally enjoyed good health..

I'd agree with Uknow when he/she states that media brainwashes the general populous on a daily basis...
