Last time I travelled ...it was with a plane load of strangers .... and a bunch of firefighters on their way to a convention in San Fran .... boy did we party on that plane .... off course this was all before the pandemic .. needless to say One of the firefighters is still very much in touch ... and we remain friends till this day .... sometimes strangers can become friends....just saying !!!

Hmmm, the American date format is always confusing but I'm quite sure this topic is 3 months old!

So I think it's safe to say that the OP already made his journey with or without a travel buddy.
And as it stands right now there can't be much travelling with all the lockdowns and quarantine times in countries.

As for travelling with a stranger... what's wrong with that?
I travelled all the way from Darwin to Uluru with an as good as stranger. Another gal I met just a few days prior to departure in my lodge.
We hitch-hiked together, spent a night under the stars in the middle of freaking nowhere etc.
Then she became my colleague and roommate too at Uluru.

Amazing things can happen when you open up!
