Being as this is posted in Mysterious Phenomena & The Paranormal I'm thinking OP is referring to soul displacement more than teleportation.
Teletransporting a soul to a different body or object to inhabit with awareness. Like remote viewing, sorta.
Teleportation is breaking down an object to its quantum parts, moving them and then reassembling them at a different location.
Quantum teleportation is a technique for transferring quantum information from a sender at one location to a receiver some distance away.
July 13, 2017 USA Today Reported
A photon — a tiny sub-atomic particle — was "transported" from the Gobi Desert to China's Micius satellite some 310 miles above the surface.
The technique has been in use since the 1990s, but it's the first time this has been done from Earth to space over such a long distance.
The technique relies on the strange phenomenon of entanglement, MIT said. This occurs when two quantum objects, such as photons, form at the same instant and point in space and so share the same existence.
What is interesting is the fact teleportaion by quantum entanglement is a shared 'state' over distance which implies FTL (faster than light) displacement which in essence is time travel.
If the soul is considered as a quantum 'state', teletransporting the soul could be considered faster than light time travel as well. For a limited time, the soul would exist in two places at the same time.
That is, if you 'believe' human awareness is a 'soul' which is separate from the physical body.
"To construct an entire human being from scratch — to say nothing about whether that human being at the destination is even the same person as the one you began with at the source — is a different problem entirely," astrophysicist Ethan Siegel said in Forbes magazine.
The concept of soul displacement was demonstrated in the Outer Limits Episode "Think Like A Dinosaur"
"Think Like a Dinosaur" is an episode of the seventh season of The Outer Limits based on a short story of the same name by James Patrick Kelly.
Michael Burr is the only permanent human occupant of the Tuulen station, situated on a vast empty plain of the Moon. His companions are the Hanen, an emotionless, dinosaur-like alien species who have developed a highly-advanced means of long-distance travel by 'jumping' through space. Achieved by creating an exact duplicate of the jumper, the copy is reconstituted at the destination point and the original destroyed, thus leaving only one.
