I've had to cancel seeing my granddaughter this afternoon... I think I got a cold sore. Not (yet) as they usual are so I'm not 100% certain but it's too dangerous for such a young baby to take that risk.
It can cause meningitis and other unpleasant things as their immune system cannot handle that virus yet.
And even if nothing happens now, it can cause things later on in the child, like epilepsy.

Really disappointed... Haven't had a cold sore in ages. But Emilia's health is all that matters and completely outweighs anything else!

It is history repeating itself. My mother had the same thing when my son was born. She flew all the way from Indonesia where she lived at the time, then had to wait forever to see her first grandchild as she too had a cold sore.
