Only one is a historian. He also happens to have been an atheist homosexual. That's Morton Smith, the forger of this forgery.

Archimandrite Kallistos Dourvas confirmed that the letter was in the book, but had he ever opened the book before Morton Smith got ahold of it? Was he qualified to judge it's authenticity? Why did he cut it out of a book and "lose" the letter?

In truth almost the whole bible if not the whole bible could be discarded as forgery by the standard stated here. So what does that prove?

People need to let go of their homophobia long enough to realize that gay is not a bad thing. It is only one form of love.

My concern would be that the text said it was a "boy" and that would make him a pediphile, now that I would agree would make him a bad guy.

Who a person has sex with, unless it is a child, is of no importance to anyone else in the whole world except the person or people the person is having sex with. Because those of true faith are unwilling to debate it with you, here in a religious forum, does not prove anyone has won or lost a debate. The faithful know what is right and wrong and probably find this thread offensive. I myself do not understand why the obviously nonreligious would even post such as this in a Religious forum unless their objective is to incite an argument.
As proven the truly faithful are unwilling to fall for such provocation. They know Jesus for they have him in their hearts, mind, and soul. They carry him always there.

Now if you think, and I mean really think, if Jesus had been carrying on in such a manner as is completely contradicting to his teachings could he have hid it from the mass of believers who followed him everywhere he went? Had he been so contradicting would he even have those who believe so devoutly to this day.

I respect you dragoness and find it hard to believe that you would invade upon another's world such as this and partake in the blasphemy of their beliefs! :cry:

I shouldn't respond to this, but I will. I don't like responding to you, because you are quite unreasonable.

The Bible is the single most historically supported document in existance. Thousands of copies exist, some of them dating back to 100 AD. There are also thousands of letters and scholarly writtings from the time, which quote or accurately discribe verses from the Bible. Where you came up with the above statement could only be your own imagination. No scholar would make that claim. Historically speaking, we have more evidence of the Bible's authenticity then we do of almost any other event.

Now before you guys run off with your strawman arguments, I didn't say that there is proof that the Bible is the truth, but we do have plenty of evidence that what is in the Bible today is what was written (or very very close) to the original.

I only responded to dragoness because even when we disagree I respect her, and I saw this thread for what it truly is.

Read the bible yourself instead of taking little snippets from here and there. Find the light and love that exists in those words for your own souls salvation. I can not help you. I struggle with my own hell!

i believe in Jesus.which is why i find it sickening people hide behind him when spouting hate.there are a lot of things in the bible ,like eating pork,which many find offensive or killing.Jesus loves all no matter their transgressions .If he was gay isn't the real debate to me but the hypocrisy among his followers who use his name and legacy to isolate whole groups of people.The Bible is a man written book with man's prejudices written in among God's word.Stop the hate and by the way Spider is a true Christian and he is not afraid to have a discussion.

I like that spider, I am quite unreasonable because I will not acqueince to you being right? LOL Oh well so be it.

Your historical evidence is quite contradictory and even puts some of the originality of the bible in shadow.

Lastly, why is Jesus being gay an insult to your religion? It is an insult to you, not the religion, as I said before his message is uneffected by him having sex with anyone.

Surely you have mistaken me for someone else. I am not true enough in my belief to hide behind the words in the bible, and have never used them in the thread which a few have carried into this realm.

Yes I understand that is written into the bible. Whether it was part of the original works of the bible or not though may be the question. The original books of the bible were altered to fit the ultimate goal of the religious leaders who compiled the book. So whether homosexuality is really a sin or not could be debatable. I fully understand and have read the bible. It has been a while but at one time I could quote verses.
