Im thinking of moving on from the religion forum at least. Im getting tired of being accused of being this big "Christian basher" when about 85% of what I draw from is taken from the bible. The last straw has been that Hitler thread in whcih all I did was utilize historical data that is public access meaning anyone could go to a library and find this information. But no, Im a Christian basher.
The only reason I every posted in the religion forums in the first place is as a public service.
The biblical myth is so absurd from the very idea that Adam would need a help-mate when God had never even given him a specific project to work on in the first place, to the utterly insane idea that God would be appeased by having his 'only begotten son' nailed to a pole.
But I suppose that anyone who is naive enough to believe such nonsense in the first place has already proven that they are beyond reason.
It just makes my skin crawl to realize that this is the very mindset that it takes for people to do horrible things like torturing innocent midwives as 'witches' in God's name.
To think that so many modern people are still stuck in that insane mindset is truly a horrifying thought.
It's just extremely difficult for me to accept that the masses are so profoundly unintelligent.
Atheists are probably the most intelligent people of all.
I don't want to believe in atheism because I want to be romantic.
But the biblical picture is far from romantic. It's a serious horror story of a truly undesirable God.
If I could freely choose between atheism or the biblical picture to be the truth of reality I would choose atheism as a far prettier picture.
However, there's always a hope that some other type of picture might be true. Like some sort of pantheism or animism.
I think the biblical picture has turned atheists off to spirituality to the point where they'd just rather atheism be true than to think that any supreme life force could stand by and let things like Christianity even exist.
I mean the mere fact that Christianity exists is pretty solid proof that no intervening all-knowing God can possibly exist.
Clearly if the biblical God exists it would be a demon of demons.
But just the same, if some other God exists that could intervene it wouldn't be much better for merely having allowed Christianity to exist.
So the mere existence of Christianity has pretty much proven that no intervening God can exist.
I think that's rather ironic but it's true. Christianity is the greatest proof of all that atheism is the most likely truth of reality.
They've pretty much proven that no truly compassionate intervening God can exist. For if one did exist it surely would have intervened in the Burning Time, and for the Cathers, and during the Crusades, and during the Holocaust.
The fact that any God (whether associated with the Bible or not) would permit such atrocities to be carried out in the very name of the supreme creator of this universe is clear evidence that no such intervening supreme creator exists.
The atheists do indeed have a rock solid point.
Christians argue that God can't intervene becasue mankind has free will, but that's clearly hogwash because the Bible had God intervening all the time.
And it's these kinds of utterly lame claims that Christians make that blatantly reveal how utterly insane their belief system is. They absolutely have no choice but to claim utterly absurdly contradictions to their very own dogma in total desperation to try to justify it.
They continue to beat a dead horse beyond recognition and that's scary because that's precisely the kind of mentality it takes to torture innocent midwives in the name of God.
It's just utterly insane. There's no hope for these people.
