I never like drawing this card but its message has a meaning I shall take into account as I go through this day.
This card shows a man standing over some other people who he had just engaged in battle. On the ground, a man lie wounded. Others in the background are moving away from the scene and a woman is crouched next to the wounded man.
The energy of this card speaks of a victory won that has injured both parties. You win, but the question asks if it was worth it. And yet it was a battle that seemed necessary at the time.
But sometimes you have to fight to break out of a bad situation. You can't expect to sit around on your duff and expect freedom to be handed to you on a silver platter.
Domination of one person over another can ruin any union. Arguments have no real winner. Wars are never won. Still battles are fought and we compete with one another.
What is this power struggle all about? Is it the urge to be free? To be right?
Most marriage battles are not about the issues but about the power struggles. It is about who is right, who is the boss and it can become a struggle just to be in charge of your own life.
I believe we fight for our personal freedom and individuality and sometimes it becomes a fight for a place in the pecking order of society and relationships. We want to be heard, and we want respect.
Soon it becomes all about the struggle and less about the love.
You have to sometimes ask yourself if it is really worth putting the love aside to win a battle.
Today I will put love first.
