NAILBOMB!!! Right on man! You don't see too many people out there that have even heard of them, at least in my locale. Best thing that came out of the Sepultura break!

I've heard of most of those. I need some underground stuff!! Bands not many people have heard of.

I dont know how much of the power metal scene you know, but one of my favorite is Sonata Arctica. Full Moon is one of my favorite songs from them.

Another Power metal band is Angra, Stratovarious, Twilightning (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBcK7KVxic4).

Also if you like a little screaming check out The Agonist.

They just got a label a year ago and I saw them at a Sonata Arctica concert in Houston. (Houston is a huge city and only about 100 people were at the concert so I would say underground lol) These guys were cool and I ended up spending a lot of time talking to the guitarist before I knew he was in a band.

I found The Agonist on Myspace a few months ago and have thier 1st album. It's bad ass I must say. Stratovarious is also really good, some sick guitar players they have. I'll check out Sonata Artica. I've heard of them but haven't dived into much of thier stuff yet.

Another good power metal band is Blind Guardian. Most of their albums are concept albums about Tolkein's Middle Earth.

Aren't they? I got pics with the whole band and my CD is autographed by the whole band too. I like how they just kind of hung out and and talked to us even though they were one of the bands. They were just acting like normal people.

Pantera is the best metal band in my book.

when it comes to straight up evil metal i like black sabbath, children of bodom, slayer and soilwork.

if your talking about hardcore metal i like old shadows fall, killswitch engage, unearth, and all that remains.

my favorite type of metal is southern based blues metal like Black Label Society, Seemless, Down and Pantera.

LMAO. Right on... I love Richard Cheese's version of that song.

Disturbed is far from underground metal, but hey, at least you're on board. They've done some cool cover songs. Definitely RADIO/Hot Topic metal though.

Carcass! Bill Steer is a guitar God. Awesome riff after awesome riff. The singer, sounds like a rodent however.

Neck - a very odd blend of hardcore, metal, a little tiny dab of hip-hop to make it sound that much weirder. Perhaps the weirdest band I like. CRAZY riffs, kind of random, VERY original sound/style.
Carbomb - members of Neck. Heavier and bit less chaotic, more like Meshuggah.
