HUGE Metallica fan here. Best album by far..Master of Puppets! I love Death Magnetic too, great comeback album!

After And Justice For All I kinda lost interest
in Metallica. The black album took a long time to
grow on me. It's alright but there is nothing like
some old HEADBANGING METALLICA!!!! I still miss
Cliff Burton to this day! His song writing was
phenominal.

Lightning to Justice were the golden years. I'll occaisionally listen to the Black Album but nothing after that.

every one says they're "newer" stuff sucks but the only album i never liked was sain anger, the new album death magnetic i think kicks ass. my fav song thats on that album has to be broken beat and scared, amazing rythem.

Also have countless of live shows from over the years, imports, bootlegs, etc. I'm one huge Metallica Fan!!

Their newest album sucked! Lars needs to learn a new rhythm or something. "Death Magnetic"? More like "Dead Pathetic".

But as for the best Metallica stuff... I'd probably have to say:
No Leaf Clover, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Battery, Sanitarium, some of the other stuff is good but those are my 4 horsemen... so to speak.

OUCH! you know they're going into the rock hall of fame becuase of that album. but hey man thats your opinion, yeah those songs kicked butt when they came out.

Metallica's sold out, IMO. I don't care how successful the album was sales wise, I just couldn't take an hour of the same drum rhythm. There are NO fills, no little solos, NO variation, it's enough to drive me insane!

it's an old old Irish folk song. Just about everybody has done a version (I like Thin Lizzy's best though)

EDIT: but back to Metallica. Their last album that I liked was Master of Muppets. Everything sounded sounded kinda poppy to me after that one

I agree, I love creeping death. Ride the lighting was a great album. I really love One, Unforgiven, and Fade to Black as well.
