Jewel, one of the celebrity contestants on the new season of Dancing with the Stars, has been recently diagnosed with tendonitis. The 34-year-old country singer has been feeling discomfort in her knee for a while before her husband, Ty Murray, who is also competing in the ABC series, recommended her to see a doctor who made the final diagnosis.
I guess I really over did it on the rehearsal front! Jewel wrote on her blog.It was just so fun to dance eight hours a day especially considering I only had three weeks to cram not only for my first dance - cha cha, but to learn the fundamentals of about six other dances that I will have to know.If her knee injury doesn't heal soon, Jewel could miss her chance on Dancing with the Stars, which returns with its eighth season on March 9.But if everything goes well, she and Murray will be the first husband and wife to go head-to-head on the dance floor, competing alongside Access Hollywood host Nancy O'Dell, Jackass star Steve-O and Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson.
It's mainly my left knee, and I can't believe I hurt it so badly. Ty warned me I was overdoing it and now he got a big ol' I told you so' in, she wrote.Hopefully these steroids will really do the trick and I can keep bad flare ups at a bay in the future. In the mean time, Jewel is resting and gathering her strength. She's also determined to continue her stint on Dancing with the Stars.I am dedicated to getting better and showing the judges and America that I can cha cha with the best of them. Don't count me out, as I am in this for the long run, she told Us Weekly.
