this is a very intelligent thread BRAVO!! but i always found some jazz fans to be a bit pretentious, yet on almost every modern jazz record there is at least one or two rock covers be seeing you

Mmmm, I'm not real sure "intelligent" is the right word. Probably more along the lines of "cultured" and not mindless. As a result, it will be a b!tch to keep afloat.

cultured would be a better term...and to add my 2 cents...Mack The Knife by Satchmo,thou i prefer the more pop version by Bobby Darin...Darin actualy did some nice jazz stuff after his rock and pop career faded he was a huge talent be seeing you

Actually, it's the Iridium, but you were close. Still kickin' ass at 93 years old. I would love to get the chance to see him play. He's from my state, and I've never had the opportunity to see him.

But, Sting's "Englishman in New York" I really dig on. and Ella Fitzgerald friggen RAWWWKED!!!!

But, for the freak music fetish genre'...
