dimebag was killed in columbus ohio, actually. december 8th 2004 he was shot by someone in the crowd. apparently the guys fired 15 shots total with 5 of them in the back of darrell's head. killed instantly.

dimebag was a hardcore hillbilly with amazing shredding abilities. wicked speed and incendiary riffs. easily one of the best metal guitarists of the recent past.
