Agreed. I am from Wisconsin but was in the Air Force for most of the 80's and traveled a lot. I knew some good guys from the Seattle area, they turned me on to grunge. I can't remember half of the one hit bands that came out at that time. I wish I could.
But if the purpose of Grunge was to stir emotion...I gotta say Soundgarden was good. Too heavy at times.
Pearl Jam got me through a divorce, so I'll always remember them.
Nirvana made me want to work out.and party.
I dunno. Thanks for the topic, and the memories it brought back.
well if youre talking about memories..
i can remember listening to "grunge" when i was younger too
lets not talk about age tho...and just say when i was younger
but get this...it is STILL good, and does the same things for me now, just differently
so i recommend getting a Soundgarden CD ---- Superunknown is my suggestion..and while youre at it...pick up an Audioslave one too...and may as well get Pearl Jam - "Ten" ...and if you really wanna go crazy? Try Collective Soul or "Purple" by STP...and if you like that...get back to me
