I never really did either. I do remember seeing them on MTV (back when they used to play music) in an unplugged show. They kinda caught my attention.......
I appreciate the fact they helped change the direction of rock at the time. I could not have handled another decade of hair bands. I've just always thought they were an extremely overrated band, maybe the second most overrated band in my lifetime.
I would be interested in who was the first? The 90's took alot of fun out of music. I did get to see Alice in Chains when they just busted out. They sounded awesome but it just wasn't a "show".....
I know more than a few will disagree, but I believe Kiss are the number one most overrated band of my lifetime. I understand they are professional showmen, but the music just sucks, at least to my ear. You'd think Gene Simmons would learn how to play the bass after almpst 40 years...
I listen to Kiss very rarely. It wasn't so much about the music. They spit fire and blood. That's kinda cool when you are 10 with all the tree hugging hippy chit that was coming out at the time. You'll probably take a little crap but mine is Aerosmith.....
I was big into the Who and Led Zeppelin when Kiss first came on the scene, not what you'd consider tree hugging hippy bands. As I said, I do appreciate the theatricality of the shows, but when you close your eyes and listen to the music it does kinda suck...
I'm with you on Aerosmith. I've never been a fan. Perry is sloppy and way overrrated. The rhythm section is very simple and Tyler is a bit of a joke...
