I think it depends on where you live and status. If you live in an area where everyone has a car and there isn't good public transportation... it might hint at social status if you didn't have a car.

At least that's my guess.

Why do you think that?

My experience was when I picked up a girl with my new BMW thy were impressed.


I'm sure some women will be impressed. But, there are those of us who are not impressed by the kind of car someone drives.

That is for sure, that not all impressed by the kind of car someone drive, but al lot of people are impressed. That is also for sure.

Having a car also generally means you have a license to operate it too, not always.....and if you have a drivers license it generally means you are not too much of a drinker/idiot of some type and have managed to hang on to it.
In cities where they have major public transportation it wouldn't be an issue.

I was reading a post in another thread where someone was talking about this question being asked on another site.

If someone asked you this question, would it offend you? Do you think having a car is important when trying to date? If you don't have a car, do you make an effort to meet your date somewhere, rather than having them pick you up all the time?

I wouldn't date someone without a car....

I have my own car and would meet someone out, especially on the first meeting...

I have a car and a motorcycle. But, I wish I didn't have to. I'd really prefer to use public transportation.
