A personal fave of mine, Chuck Schuldiner, RIP. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Schuldiner . He formed the band Death, and then went on to form, Control Denied before he died in December 2001 of brain stem cancer. He is credited as one of the founding creators of Death Metal, although this is still strongly debated to this day. Most genres evolve over time, later being tagged with a genre label.

from the album, The Sound of Perseverance. I don't expect it to be to everyones taste.. But this is a personal fav of mine and although more progressive than some of their earlier albums I just love the drums the guitar work and lyrics. The whole album is the nuts.
I'm familiar. He was a giant. Death...love that band though I haven't listened to em' in years. God...Death Metal is so cool. Remember grindcore...bands on Earache records like Godflesh?
Ahh.. you must check out the YouTube track I posted, if you haven't already. Death Metal and Thrash are my main genres of music. Really into Misery Index at the mo.. although I can highly recommend, Vektor - Black Future: http://heavyartillery.us/HA55012/ . Loooong demo's from the album. Best thrash band in a long time.
