I used to love this show as a kid, and I loved all the TV appearances Wayland Flowers and Madame made.

For those who may not know- Wayland Flowers was a ventriloquist most famous for his character Madame(he did this routine on TV from the mid 60's to his passing away at the very young age of 48 in 1988)

Madame's Place was a too short-lived sitcom(ran in '82, and re ran many times through the 80's) that starred Madame(it was considered very risque at the time)

Here's the opening intro to the show:

Wasn't it a spin off of the 70's Rowen and Martin's 'Laugh In?'

I am pretty sure I remember it and I also remember that many of the 'Laugh In's' members made guest appearances on this show too...

or am I wrong

I don't think it was spin-off, but Wayland Flowers did numerous appearances on Laugh-In so he probably built a good relationship with those guys.
Glad to see someone else remembersdrinker

What a hoot ...

I remember it now, wow, the things we forget about, uh ...

I had no telly from '75 until about '91 or '92... So the memories are vague, but I do recall w/ the clips and pics!

Maybe from Laugh~In, as Andy noted?!

I also remember lovin' Edgar Bergen and his partner Charlie McCarthy ... You?

Yeah, Wayland and Madame were on Laugh-In a lot, and Hollywood Squares, and Solid Gold(this mainly because SG and Madame's Place were produced by the same people)

I do like Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy. I love their movie- Charlie McCarthy, Detective...they paved the way to all the modern ventriloquists.

I remember she was weird. I used to have one of her albums when I was a kid.

You want obscure? Does anyone else remember Gigglesnort Hotel? It was on on Sunday mornings right before the little Jewish guy who lived in the acorn.
