I agree with harmony.
I have a dream that one day, I will be so lucky in this life, to put this list of women in studio or on stage TOGETHER:
Whitney
Mariah
Martina McBride
Christina Aguilera

Just so I can hear how amazing those powerful voices would sound together.

emancipation of mimi was fab-u-lous!! I love her w/ JZ. there is no one else like mariah she's awesome and 1 of a kind

if we're lucky her "prime" will just continue on & on...

one of my life dream's is to see mariah carey on concert - I'd freak at the chance

I agree Mariah sings more R&B than soul, and Whitney was also wonderful in her time

anyway Mariah has Opera in her background which may explain her range to some extent - her mom sang opera

Whitney was outstanding! "I will always love you" is one of the best soulful song I've ever heard.

I think of whitney as a soulful singer, not alot of gimmick beyond her soulful voice

I think of mariah as an incredible vocalist who uses too much gimmick instead of a soulful voice,,

That's interesting since I can recall hearing things said about Whitney like how she didn't sound black or soulful enough. Too pop/white sounding. Of course, in my book, music has no color. Music is just music. No white or black music. But, humans. You know how we can be:)

I have to admit, WHITNEY was my idol growing up, but crack F'D her up bad. I have no respect for her anymore. She sounds and looks like crap.

I've always been a fan of Mariah since her very first album and I still love listening to her, I even had my ex make me mix of all my favorite Mariah songs. So as long as Mariah steers clear of crack, and I think she will with her nice husband who worships her and now her twins---I always Love and respect MARIAH more.

"How will i know" was a very pretty song, she sounded and looked like a goddess.... never cared about her color or if she sounded like a certain color, the song was just wonderful.
