probably the most heart wrenching song I can think of is Jacob's Dream by Alison Krauss

it's about these little boys on the Mtn that try to follow their dad into the woods where he went to chop wood and they got lost

a neighbor saw them exactly where they were in a dream - after the town had searched the mountain - very sad song, but his dream was spot on and they may never have been found otherwise
