Wowowowo... peaked. The study is meaningless, the findings, as presented.
The sample space is named as "adults".
No age break down of adults is given.
I contest the data, this data, presented, can lead to any sort of conclusion. Please consider that the percentage findings would yield completely different meanings if the subjects were ALL:
Between 21 and 22 years of age, inclusive, or
Between 82 and 99 years of age, inclusive.
The illustrative purposes are clear, and though it is reasonable to think that the sample of "adults" as used for the sample between 1990 and 2001 were not that segregatively skewed in age, it is still extremely important to know their age distribution curve.
Without knowing that, this presentation is worth fabatka.
However, please also notice that weight can and does fluctuate, although not as much as his perceived IQ, of a given person. In 17 years a study subject could have crossed several times a boundary between grouped samples, and some could have crossed more than one boundary, not just one several times.
I am all of a sudden happy I allow myself that Sicilian Ice Cream every Sunday.
Now I feel better. There may still be a good chance I'll die before 65, and not have to starve to death after my 65th birthday.
