I actually like Limp Bizkit and also have admiration for the introduction of Staind with Aaron Lewis have possibly the best singing voice in human history with the possible exception of Frank Sinatra

Limp Biskit can be called metal or whiteboy rap - fact is that they really are too good to be confined to a category & IMO are much better than thrash which gets monotonous

Wes Borland - defintely one of the best lead guitarists of decade 2000
Fred Durst
Sam (?) Rivers
DJ Lethal
John Otto - had to look him up but u will not find better instrumental percussion ANYWHERE

after Bizkit drums anywhere else are boring

Wes Borland and DJ Lethal were about the only two worthwhile members. Fred Durst gave millions, and millions of fans the middle finger...Staind would have just came through on the back of another band, Aaron Lewis is truly too talented to not get recognized on his own.

I love the metal sounds of Faith No More (especially the Patton years, and The Real Thing - great album!!!), and parts of Dream Theater. And I realize many hardcore metalheads may not even agree this is true metal (they aren't "metal" bands), but I say it's a form of metal, and one that I get lost in!

OMG! You know Dream Theater???

Night Wish (Both Tarja and Anette)
Metallica (my ex and I got engaged at one of their Gothenburg concerts and used "Nothing Else Matters" as our wedding march)
Black Sabbath
Motörhead
Pain
Judas Priest
Helloween
Queensryche
Saxon
RRRamstein !!!

I used to work for Sweden Rock Records and was a regular at their Rock Festival in Sölvesborg every June for years. I agree that Europe has the best metal and Sweden is tops (my biased opinion) bigsmile

I moved back to the States after the divorce. Silly me thought I could get more steady work here to support my kids. If I knew then what I knew now, I'd still be there doing concert photography, interviews and writing lyrics.

If I may, I'd like to introduce Spearfish to y'all. A great Swedish band. They're kind of reminiscent of Rush.

My ex (a video editor) made this video for one of their releases. Not his best work, but the song is great.

I took most of the stills in this video ... oh, and I penned the lyrics to this song, plus two others on this CD. I also worked on the lyrics of the other songs as well as on two other CDs.

Dave Mustaine is a whiny little biotch. That's why Metallica gave him a bus ticket home in the middle of a tour.... laugh

I have everything they did up until "Killing Is My Business". I've seen Dave in concert twice. I really do need to catch up; I think they have 3 more CDs out.

I'm glad they woke him up one morning and tossed him on a bus without notice ... because he's much better off not being a part of Metallica. Best thing that could have happened to him.

"Ain't he purty?" smitten

Roberta, I see you have a quote from Vixen on your profile. I thought I was the only person left in this world that remembered them. That is so cool.

Queensryche was great. I still have three CDs, including Operation: Mindcrime.

Metallica, White Zombie, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Dokken, Tesla, Dio (saw him in concert with Yngwie Malmsteem), Blue Oyster Cult (they were at one time...), Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeath, Twisted Sister, Dream Theater (I still have Awake and a promotional single of Pull Me Under)...

I listened to them all....had albums from each of them. I wish Queensryche had hung around though. I really loved "The Eyes of a Stranger" and "Revolution Calling". I used to listen to Metal Shop on the radio each week too.

Technically, I classify Marilyn Manson as form of heavy metal....sort of the same genre as Rob Zombie.

I've also listened to Slayer and a number of others. I just never was into them that much. Although there is a version of "Angel of Death" which opens with a 30 second scream that ranges through 3 octaves. That was impressive.

No arguments here! I actually met RJ Dio a few years before he died when he played some songs together with "my" band Spearfish on a CD to benefit a charity for children with cancer in Sweden. There was also Paul Di'Anno (Iron Maiden), Mick Box (Uriah Heep), Manny Charlton (Nazareth) and many more. I didn't contribute music to this one but I did the text and layout of the CD. It was amazing to watch him record.

Queensryche is still around, they just put out a new album 2 weeks ago. Although I heard it it totally sucks (I haven't heard it personally) they are still around dude!

and Sweden...the birthplace of the greatest metal there is today <3
