About8 or9 yrs ago guitar one magazine did a top guitarist countdown, on a bracket tree like you'd see at a swim meet or sumthin

anyway - not too many surprises hendrix got the #1 slot and EVH I think was next

Lita Ford wasn't even on the list - only female was Joni Mitchell (who is excellent)

so who are ur top 10

I have more than 10 & I'm putting up who is good eve nif they aren't my favorite band

prince is really underrated on the guitar.... the man has some major talent, but his style of music wasn't mainstream enough...imo

Yea....and Scotty Moore who played with Elvis for years.... Oh....and Luther Perkins.....who played on all of Johnny Cash's early work. Then there was also Ry Cooder.........

I like the gtr. players in Sonic Youth. That **** is way damaged, trippy stuff......

There's a guy called Rys Chatham. You should check him out. He is a minimalist. He does a composition called "Guitar Trio"....which is basically deconstructing an E major chord for 30 minutes. It is intense. Oh.....and Glenn Branca. He writes full symphonies for electric gtr. It's the loudest thing you've EVER heard.......
