There are a few modern bands I like alright. Radiohead, Muse, Kasabian, The Shins, Franz Ferdinand, ect..... but for the most part, they're all shite
What do you think about Foo Fighters? I've been listening to them a lot lately. I lived in Seattle at the time grunge started becoming big, so I kinda feel like Nirvana,Dave Grohl, Alice in Chains, Pearljam are all a piece of my personal soundtrack. I just saw a Youtube clip where FF were playing (Lollapalooza) in a total downpour/thunder lightning, and all. Got admire that.

FF is defintely a band on par with any of the greats in R&R history - on another thread here I listed Everlong as one of the most beautiful pieces of music in existence - bar none

which gets me to think I need to go look up the author

FF is b-league compared to the others...JMO

that's just wrong

While I'm not a big Nirvana fan, I'm surprised people are mentioning Nirvana and Nickleback in the same sentence!

I like linkin but I think of them more as front running the movement to combine rock with a little rap - the red hot cp did that too about that same time - maybe a little before with blood sugar sex magik - tho I don;t compare the two otherwise (linkin is an arena band) - and both are uniquely very good

Aaron Lewis is clearly one of the best male vocalists of modern times

I am not sure that I would compare him to anyone else - though I do like several others as well. Staind creeps in a little grunge for those that like grunge/metal

typically I'd agree but I've been known to use bill monroe and mudvayne in the same sentence

eclecticism
