Ac/Dc on the For those about to rock Tour @ INDIANAPOLIS ,IND Market Square Arena when I was 16. And from there it was a non stop ride. My older sis was a childhood friend and Class of 71 classmate of John Mellencamp and I was friends with his gutarist Larry Cranes younger brother and we got so many concert tickets with backstage passes and after party invites . And still got it going on.
What a great question! It took me a while to think of this one because I have been to so many concerts in my life time.
I would say it was when I was 14 and saw the McCoys playing at a local city park in Cleveland, Ohio. I will never forget hearing Hang on Sloopy. The official song of the state of Ohio.
Saw the Shirelles and a couple of others when I was mostly too young to remember, 10 or 11 y/o kid, circa 65 or 66 in Birmingham. I don't remember getting much out of it, and only as a formality do I call it my first show.
My first real show was NYE 75/76. Alex Cooley's Electric Ballroom in Hotlanta, right across from The Fox Theatre.
KANSAS was the band, their stuff was new and fresh.
