Hello People from Mingle2. Is anyone else interessted in Origami or knows of it?
It is a japanesse art of folding paper. The idea is to create something out of nothings, as art always is, to create something beautiful.

There are many folds out there in the world that turns square formed paper sheets into rabbits, cranes, flowers, boxes, hats and much much more.
But during the folding it is not permited to cut the paper or use glue. This is not what Origami is.

If you are interessted about how something like that looks like, check this out:

Have a lovely day everyone!

I used to be really big into Origami. My mission was to get the 1,000 crane from one sheet of paper done, but I was never able to figure out how to get two cranes from one sheet of paper without cutting it. :/

I was able to get to 100 off of one (big) sheet of paper though.

its called papercraft similar to origami but this is more about making models out of paper and does require glue and scissors so be careful ;-)
I do some origami to but I only ever made penguins, water balloons and stuff like that.

Hi all from Nepal.
The paper I make similar orgami but it is known as rice paper, meterial available at the altitude of 5000 to 9000 feet, the paper is strong as it has many fibers. And durable .I also.make many things with that paper. Like notebook, journals, lamps, cards, ststionary sets, bags, boxes and many.if some one interested I will.provide my website . I've always thought that combining folding art with drawing on it would be a cool combo. I never use a oragami book, but sometimes if i'm idle for a few moments and have a paper and pen around, I try to make something. It's usually graphic gibberish though!

what other items are utilised in origami apart from the things mentioned by a few people?
