Agnostic, lets look at what the meaning entails: Winkpedia defines it as someone who neither believes nor disbelieves in the existence of a deity or deities.

Now it's impossible for me to justify a single God with all the suffering we all see day in and day out. However; I just don't think that man is an orchestra of terrific coincidences either. Or that we did it alone.

Therefore I believe that we are simply remnants of a race that is much more evolved than we are now (think pyramids). Our ancestors were dumbed-down and left behind to populate this planet.

Hey, I may be a bit intoxicated, but it makes more sense than the inane fable of coming from dust and a rib.

I think agnosticism is appropriate in some cases. I'm agnostic about life on other planets. However, I don't think it's appropriate when it come to god. My reason is that the existence of god is far more unlikely than our own. According to what we know about how things come about, evolution etc. the god hypothesis (as it's generally given in the traditional faiths) cannot be real. This is because complex beings, like a god, don't just pop into existence. They come about after a long evolutionary process. So, this god that was here before anything and made everything out of nothing just doesn't fly.

Now, if you want to discuss god as some kind of alien with advanced technology able to create a universe like the one we live in, that's a very different matter.

I do not define "God" in the way the mainstream does. To me God is not human form, kind of an indescribable energy that exist on a different dimension, plane, whatever. I am not like these religious nuts who claim to have it all figured out, present it to you in a neat little package and get upset if you refute it.

I'm 99.99999% sure there's no god. But, to put that into perspective, I'm also 99.99999% sure there are no unicorns too.

LOL, true, there aren't many absolutes in life. Just like I can't "prove" there are no unicorns, I can't "prove" there is no god. But there is this little gift I have called common sense......

Well proof would look like an old bearded man donning a robe...lol.... Proof would consist of something tangible, not hearsay. Something that will not only convince me, but any skeptic.

I don't mean to press you about this, but it's something that I've devoted a lot of thought to. I used to think if god presented himself to me I'd be convinced. But, now I'd think I was just hallucinating. These days I really don't know what it would take to change my mind about it.

No worries at all bro'....if he/she presented themselves I doubt that would be enough. The person would have to preform a miracle on a grand scale and not something personal that only affected me. Actually that would be a good topic for a new thread!

My belief is that god is in the human being . Its right their . We have free will to chosse to find it and develop it in us. The meaning of god is light to me love. I dont know who made the world and all the rest ..and dont care ...but i do believe their is a higher level inside us all . This being goes on after we die in our physical form. Where it goes to is determained as in its next place of dwelling is ..down to what it was and did in the liveing world. Our spirits are a part of god .

Gnostics were and are knowers of truth, and not believers of tales and fables, those tells we're told to the masses of people as allagory, where written by Mistics and contain truth, but, are not literal facts,but at the same time they are true. I don't believe there is a man waiting on some planet somewhere waiting to judge us upon death. But I do know that, everything and everyone is composed of energy and energy can't be disapated, it just transforms to another form, some say heaven and hell, I don't believe or know of such things, just hear about them.

I have, for many years now, called myself a deist leaning agnostic. I consider the possibility of some being that created all this. But if so, I don't think he's paying any attention to us, has any influence over us or listens to nor answers prayers. No grand plan.

I'm Atheist, because I personally know of no man/ woman, thing, or place waiting after death. I've died 3 times and didn't see any deity or any proof of anything after...

I too am agnostic. I wish there was a God here, but I can't seem to have faith in him. I don't know why he's not explaining himself clearly about this never ending experience he has created. Making man out of sin and is punishing us for the sins we commit. Good people send their prayers and some don't be answered. "All men are created equal", even though he put people (superbs) on this earth that are more special than the rest of us.

Why do some other religions ask their followers to give money to their way of believing? I thought asking for money from people without having proof was some type of scam. Are some people being scammed by huge groups, who say "trust us, this is the way it is"?

i rather be a skeptic than a cynic. is it possible that a god or many gods or higher power exists? well, sure why not. is it possible there is no higher power? yes possible too. not enough evidence for me to move either way.
