I gotta laugh. The one's who are only after a quickie think they can butter me up, and kiss my arse, and they think it'll reap a different result than going to a nightclub. Well, I have news for those types. Your tricks will never work on me. If I won't go to a nightclub, just to avoid that kind of men, then what makes em think it'll work on me on a dating site? Do me a favour. . They wanna get their freak on? Then why NOT just go get it at your usual local hookup bar? What makes em think I'll believe their blah, blah, blah?

Way I look at it this is a process that you are either into or you are not.

If a person does not put up a few pictures and make at least a minimal effort to write a profile I am going to pass them over for the ones who have.

Life is too short to make this on-line dating thing some big convoluted process. Show me something that basically allows me to see if there is a first impression of attraction or not. Then tell me some basics so I can find some commonalities in values and personalities. Then get with the program and make a public introduction or forget it. I quit plying school yard games 50 years ago.

On more adult oriented sites I have used pictures as avatars that were not of me but of a model. The funny thing is that I put in my info I am male and not the person in the picture. But people only look at the picture and then send me friend requests. Sometimes by the time I see the friend request they have canceled it, probably because they saw I am a guy. I bet if I did the same thing here I would have the same thing happen.. I bet I could make a profile, put a picture of a 20 year old girl as my avatar, say I am 50 or 60 years old and male and I would still get guys that would send that profile emails because they don't read any of the info on the profile.

More than you think. A lot of the people in this topic have used no picture or a random picture at one time.

Some don't put up pictures because they are just checking things out. Some don't do it for professional reason. Some like to be creative. Some can't figure out how to upload one, some are married, some want to get to know someone first and some have been stalked and had their pictures used other places (like me). Many, many reasons

You speak from your experience and I speak from mine. It wasn't an assumption. Beside that you display a cute patriotic pic. This forum is about profiles without pics.

I have more than 5 years experience here. I've seen this thread MANY times and people explain it over and over. There are a lot of reasons for no pictures. Not everyone is married

I put my pic up so people can see who they are talking to.
I am looking for friends so the way I appear shouldn't be an issue, except maybe with the shallowest of people, and if that is the case, I don't want to be friends with them anyway!
How I look shouldn't matter, it's my personality that counts! :)

I was stating other reasons why people might not have a picture. Generalizations are never accurate.

Not sure who placed judgement. I said that was a big assumption (which is true) and I gave other reasons why no pictures other than being married.
