The bible uses, use the expression "the last days" to refer to the concluding
time period leading up to a divinely appointed exertion that marks the end
of a system of things. Do you believe that we are living in the last days??
This is what I believe
2 Timothy reads:
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power.
and 2 Peter reads:
Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”
and Matthew 24 reads:
“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.
So, my observation and conclusion is that we are NEARER to the time, but WHEN that time is will always be a mystery and exactly how near will also remain so. However, I find it troubling that the conditions mentioned in 2 Timothy, although they have always been present, seem to be more admired and more promoted as virtues than they have been before.
