Kidding! I don't have a problem giving out my phone number so long as I've known the person for a bit, when it feels comfortable.

A guy (non-scammer guy) who is pushy about a phone number, complains when you won't give him one after a few messages, claims you have "trust issues"....nah..
Those are the very ones who *always* turn out to be someone I should not have ever given my number to...

I'm a private person. I normally do not give my number out to just anyone. Nor do I expect them to give it out to me. Time is usually the answer to getting it. There's enough nutz out in the world today. I'd rather they not be ganged up on my doorstep.

If I like somebody I will give them a contact email address to use some of the features (VoIP) there to make life easier. Only when I fully trust that person to be sincere will I give my number out (one specifically for that purpose).

I think it depends on the circumstances. I personally am old school and consider this online stuff far less personal and less likely to actually get to know the real person. It wasn't really that long ago when that was the only real option. I don't really just give out my # but I am not afraid to either. However, to each their own.....
