I'm listening to Queensryche's 'Operation: Mindcrime' for the gazillionth time. It sits alone at the top of my list of favorite recordings of all time.
Geoff Tate's voice, DeGarmo and Wilton's theatrical guitar work, the storyline that paints a dark but weirdly hopeful view of being different;
an ogre in lamb's clothing (or vice-versa).
There are others that are cool, though - think 'Tommy' or 'Hair.'
What are your favorites? If it's not an 'opera,' that's cool. What's the album that floats your boat? How come? Who's work enchants you?
