I'm listening to Queensryche's 'Operation: Mindcrime' for the gazillionth time. It sits alone at the top of my list of favorite recordings of all time.

Geoff Tate's voice, DeGarmo and Wilton's theatrical guitar work, the storyline that paints a dark but weirdly hopeful view of being different;
an ogre in lamb's clothing (or vice-versa).


There are others that are cool, though - think 'Tommy' or 'Hair.'

Bohemian Rhapsody, a mini rock opera all on its own.

I consider Operation: Mindcrime as one of the best albums that has been made over the last 25 years.

Barcelona, only Freddie could pull that one off, helped by Monseratt Cabelle of course.

Who could forget A Night at the Opera, starts off with Death on two legs and every songs a classic in its own right, especially Prophets song,Seaside Rendezvous and of course Bohemian Rhapsody

Tommy, by The Who, was quite good, but Quadrophenia (The Who) and The Wall, by Pink Floyd, were my favourites though!

I love Freddie!!!

Nightwish has two solid rock opera albums. Poet and The Pendulum and Imaginaerum.

Freddie was quite simply a one off.my grown up kids have their own taste in music but both love Queen and Freddie. Don't know much about Adam Lambert, I wish Roger and Brian would leave it alone, they are becoming more like a tribute band with him singing.John Deacon had the best idea and said Queen are not Queen without Freddie!
