Hi and best wishes on your search.

Everyone has their own opinions on this subject. While some may agree with you... others will not.

It's one of the most natural things in the world to see in public, same as a couple kissing or a toddler having a tantrum. It's part of being a mother and it shouldn't be suspended because others have a problem with it.

I can remember a time when you were expected to go sit in the ladies room to feed your child. How hygenic that was or you had to go hide in the car like what you were doing was dirty somehow. I am all for a little discretion and being ladylike. A blanket would have been fine

We are coming, bit by bit, thanks to courageous (and assertive) souls, to recognize that natural is not an inherently bad thing.

Breast feeding in public is still something pretty 'new.' That very newness is a goofy thing. Some folks do take advantage of the shock value, it's true. Some folks 'use' it as a sort of bludgeon to get their point across. Some folks simply have a hungry infant and want to fix that.

If it's uncomfortable for anyone, they might keep in mind that breast feeding does not include handcuffing all of those who might be less comfy with it.

If it bothers you, direct your attention elsewhere.

And, look at the bright side, it's lots less attention-getting than a balky, crying, hungry infant intent on letting the world know how they feel. rofl

It is natural and a bonding moment, but many strangers don't feel the need to be a part of the bonding. I tend to be one. I don't expect mom's to go somewhere else but a blanket or something works just fine. Just my opinion.

Haha, it's about FEEDING a child, No1!! rant

Trust me, nothing sexual about it... I once missed a feeding, got home 5 mins too late and my hubby had just given my kid the bottle. No way I could get another drop in him and my breasts were about to explode, and it was bedtime :/
Using a breast pump somehow never worked for me, so the only solution ... well... my husband wasn't hungry, lol, but yeah ... LMFAO
And that's what I did for about half an hour, LMFAO, really NOTHING sexual about it... I only p*ssed myself laughing ... am again now ... 24 yrs later lol ... And he was none to chuffed

Formula is disgusting. sick Breast milk on the other hand is sweet and taste pretty good. Anybody that has been with a pregnant woman knows this. Had I any choice in the matter I would never have given my kids formula.

Public breastfeeding? If you don't like it don't look. Kid needs to eat. I think it's really a beautiful moment between mother child. Sure, a little modesty wouldn't hurt. However, I don't think a woman feeding her kids has any real affect on anyone else except the mother and child. You may be uncomfortable with it, but isn't that your problem? Your emotional reaction to something is your own reaction affecting you. Therefore, in reality it has nothing to do with the woman that is simply trying to feed her kid the most nutritious and tasty option available.

If you have to feed your baby feed them. You don't put a blanket over an animal when they are feeding their babies (not saying we are animals or insulting anyone). At the end of the day who really cares? Go you mums who can do it because there are a lot who can't but want to.

Did anyone notice the first post was made at 5:30 am and the last one was made at 5:34 am and the OP got slammed by hate mail..Dayum that is fast typing and reading IMO>..

I have no problem with breast feeding it is a natural thing, when I was doing it I used a receiving blanket no problem...

IF someone was offended never told me about it. Well and if they would have I most likely would have asked would like a screaming hungry baby instead...

Yeah, totally agree...
This entire silly sexual innuendo around it, cos that's what it boils down to... men getting turned on by it, women getting all flustered cos they're afraid their man will get turned on by it.
While in actual fact it's just awful that you can't just simply feed your baby, cos that's all it is. And indeed a beautiful moment between a mother and her child.
