I didn't know Air Supply ever purported to be metal, so not them. Probably "Quiet Riot." It seems their only intention was to pop out a couple top-40's and quit trying. Def Leppard is a strong second. I like their music, but they were "riding the fence" when it came to going full metal, and never picked a side. Or I guess they did, actually?

It's a tie, between 'Hanson'
and the Beatles.

Slade were an ace glam rock band of the 70's. Noddy Holder their lead singer is a legend. He used to buy his gig clothes of Freddie Mercury's stall on Kensington Market before Freddie was famous. Slade had a bit of a renaissance in the early 80's with "run run away" and "My Oh My".

Most Death metal is crap. Sometimes the riffs are good but overall its mostly crap.

A sweeping statement if ever I read one. I see your point in that a lot of the vocals are poor,e.g Jobs for a cowboy but like you say there are some brilliant riffs which in my eyes (opinion) makes up for the vocals
