I am watching this program call drunk history ... and trying to figure is this really true ... **** ...but I may have know this but forgot ... but who new ...Thomas Jefferson and John Adams die on the same day ... July 4rth the same day when they both signed the declaration of Independents ...

On this day in 1826, former Presidents Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, who were once fellow Patriots and then adversaries, died within hours of each other, on the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1826.

wow... this show is wild ...and funny ... about the history of our Presidents and first ladies ... laugh

I don't "get cable", can't comment on the show.

On the event, it's widely reported that Adam's last words were: "Jefferson still lives."
though by that time TJ was assuming room temperature.

As there's minute left, one more point on the 4th.

KG3's log entry for July 4, 1776 was:
"Nothing of importance happened today."

The declaration of independents?

That's right.
That was the ORIGINAL title of the document.
Meant to show there should be no two party system!
And it was actually adopted from the Chinese document of indepandants.
Knowledge brought to you by common core.

Brings new meaning to the expression "rotten to the core". indifferent

They also had a bitter struggle whether to write "inalienable" rights or "unalienable" rights. The latter won. But inalienable is used now.

There are so many fake quotes floating around these days, I've learned to be distrustful of all of them.

By the way, even if KG3 DID write that in his whatever (diary?), all that it would indicate is that in those days, it took over a month to find out in Britain, what was happening in the future US.
